Company History In 1948, Mr. Rudolf Hartig founded the company in Losensteinleiten. After World War II, he began producing curtain rods. At that time, raw materials were scarce, so he resorted to using the tin cans from American "Care Packages." These were rolled up, cut into a continuous strip, and drawn into a tube. With the settlement of the displaced Gablonzer (from Gablonz an der Neisse, now Jablonec nad Nisou in the Czech Republic) in the area of the former K.u.K. Dragoon Barracks in Enns, the Hartig company was relocated to Enns in 1950 and became a supplier to the fashion jewelry industry. In 1979, Mr. Friedrich Zimmermann took over the company from his uncle. He recognized early on that the fashion jewelry sector had little future as a main business field in Austria. Drawing on his experience in construction, the business area was expanded, and due to the proximity to the automotive industry based in Steyr, a restructuring into a supplier for this industry took place. Deliveries of various spare parts for production lines were initiated. Over the years, we found our strengths in the development of various devices, measuring, and testing equipment for the automotive industry. The construction of stamping and bending tools also counts as one of our main competencies, thanks to our experience from the fashion jewelry industry. Through the various challenges faced by our customers, we collaboratively seek solutions in both constructive and manufacturing areas and implement them in a prototype for series production. In 2010, Mr. Zimmermann acquired the rights to the Gablonzer brand and introduced Gablonzer Christmas ornaments as an additional business area in 2011, where we see ourselves as a pure trading company and have our jewelry produced in the former Gablonz. In 2013, Mr. Ing. Thomas Zimmermann took over the company from his father and now leads the company in the third generation. He has expanded the business area of Gablonzer Christmas ornaments to include fashion jewelry. Currently, we employ 4 staff members and 1 apprentice. Our Philosophy Aside from our experience in various areas, every project is developed in collaboration with our customers and is continually reviewed and improved until delivery to provide our customers with a cost-effective, high-quality, and optimal end product. We ensure that our customer knows what the final product will look like at every project milestone. We are also happy to act as a general contractor for you, ensuring that your challenges are not doomed to fail due to the differing competencies of various suppliers.
