SOVIBOR - Soc. Vinhos de Borba, Lda. was established on December 16, 1968. It results from the merger of two small producers who began their activities many years before 1968 and later created the companies Manuel Joaquim Mira and Domingos Luiz Pinto & Filho, Lda., both with long-standing traditions in the wine sector. Therefore, SOVIBOR is managed by individuals traditionally connected to viticulture. Although equipped with the most modern technology aimed at producing quality wines, this company also has an old and beautiful aging cellar, with about three thousand hectoliters in wooden barrels. From the red grape varieties Castelão, Trincadeira, Aragonez, and Alicante Bouschet, and the white varieties Roupeiro, Rabo de Ovelha, and Tamarez, the wines with the brands Sovibor/DOC, Adega do Passo, Valflor, and Mirabom emerge in the market, both white and red, sourced from the vineyards of its partners, totaling 200 hectares, located in the sub-region of Borba.
