The cooperative is present in the national market with a high-level target, compared to other operators in the sector, both in terms of quality and marketed products, as well as the suitability of the citrus-growing area in which it operates. To verify the absence of residues of substances not permitted for organic cultivation, the Cooperative Society "Solo Sole" is subject to the national control body called "suolo e salute," which periodically conducts checks on the soil and fruits from the lands of its members, issuing the organic product certification. The building for processing lemons is located on an area of about 8000 square meters and is equipped with an appropriate processing line. The cooperative "Solo Sole" supplies the most important Italian markets with the prized lemon of the "femminello siracusano" variety, a graft that is widespread only in a limited area of southeastern Sicily, whose qualitative characteristics place it among the best in Europe. The "femminello siracusano" has a fine-grained skin, excellent resistance, abundant juice, and few small seeds. For over 5 years, the cooperative "Solo Sole" has also been involved in the processing and marketing of both "organic and conventional lemons," and is also registered with the protection consortium for the IGP Siracusa lemon, which is a product free from treatments.
