The Olive Growers Cooperative was established in Farnese (VT) in 1946 and is made up of about 70 members who own 170 hectares of land around the municipality of Farnese (343 m above sea level). Due to an edict by Galeazzo Farnese in 1572, which mandated that every landowner in the Farnese area plant at least three olive trees each year under penalty of a monetary fine, the olive growers of Farnese continue this ancient tradition. The Cooperative has always aimed to achieve the following objectives: - The collective processing of all olives delivered by the members according to the best olive oil production techniques, providing the necessary facilities and equipment for this purpose; - The preservation and joint sale of the product obtained from the processing of the olives. During the olive oil campaign, members deliver olives daily, and the milling of these olives occurs within 24 hours using mechanical processes (cold extraction); this method allows for the production of high-quality Extra Virgin olive oil. Visually, our oil, produced exclusively in the FARNESE area, has an emerald green color with golden reflections and emits a fruity aroma reminiscent of freshly harvested ripe olives. It boasts a robust flavor with artichoke notes. On tasting, it leaves a pleasantly spicy and slightly bitter aftertaste with almond undertones. It is rich in Vitamin E, polyphenols, and other antioxidants.
