Rosano Dry Fruit was founded in 1959 by Gaetano Rosano, the father of the current owner, who decided to start a business focused on shelling and marketing almonds for the production of semi-finished products of all kinds. Subsequently, the company expanded its activities to include pistachios, for which the family had owned land since the early 1900s. The shelling and cleaning of pistachios continued for years, until the 1990s, when the business passed into the hands of his son Tino, who initiated a new phase. Since then, the procurement of raw materials has expanded from the traditional supply by Sicilian farmers to include imports from foreign markets. Rosano Dry Fruit thus became the first company in Italy to import the prized Syrian pistachio and continued to further broaden its scope by purchasing pistachios from the Greek, Turkish, Iranian, and Spanish markets for export to Italy and abroad. Today, the company also markets hazelnuts from Georgia, aimed at the Italian market.
