Additive Manufacturing 3-D metal printing enables a wide range of applications. This additive manufacturing technology, also known as generative manufacturing processes, Rapid Prototyping, Rapid Tooling, and Rapid Manufacturing, is used to produce robust functional prototypes in record time. The components are utilized in the automotive sector, toolmaking, turbine construction, medical technology, vehicle construction, electrical engineering and electronics industry, as well as machinery and plant engineering. Selective Laser Melting (SLM) describes a layer-by-layer building process. The robust functional prototypes are created with metal 3D printers by melting a powder material using laser radiation. Our EOS M290 features a powerful 400-watt fiber laser with excellent detail resolution. The manufactured component achieves an almost 100% density and possesses very good mechanical properties.
