It was a Sunday and my partner's daughter was visiting. As so often when she visited us, the conversation quickly turned to the topic of horseback riding. Riding was her great passion, and it must be said that she had already achieved quite a lot in this sport at that time. My partner's daughter was a rider with heart and soul and could tell stories from this environment for hours. However, on that day, she wasn't feeling very well. Her horse had injured its front leg joint without any external influence and was limping. The veterinarian who was called to help treated the joint and sold her a dietary supplement (with green-lipped mussel) from a very well-known manufacturer for the price of €138.00 per kilo. €138.00 for 1kg! This was hard for the daughter to understand. And we could understand that all too well. This topic captivated us all, and we discussed for quite a while why dietary supplements had to be so expensive in general. But did they really have to be that way? At that time, of course, we couldn't know how much this discussion would change our lives. In any case, this question didn't leave us, and we began to research. It wasn't very difficult to determine which ingredients the individual dietary supplements contained. And we quickly realized that the high price of the dietary supplements had nothing to do with the price of the raw materials used. Therefore, we decided to try our luck part-time and after a long search found a company that produced 5 different dietary supplements for us. We took advantage of the possibilities of the internet and began with the direct sales of our products. However, the big breakthrough was still to come. But then, at the beginning of 2005, we first came into contact with black seed oil. A man called and asked if we could meet. He wanted to introduce us to what he believed was an interesting product that would fit perfectly into our small assortment: black seed oil. Up to that point, we had heard of black seed oil, but had not come into further contact with this oil. The rest is quickly told. The meeting was a complete success. It became very clear to us that black seed oil would not only complement our product range, but that due to the uniqueness of this oil, our part-time activity could eventually lead to a full-time existence. And that's how it happened. Our luck: On one side, the competition was relatively small at that time, and on the other side, black seed oil became known relatively quickly, especially through word of mouth, far beyond the equestrian circles. Black seed oil became our best-selling product, while the other dietary supplements gradually faded into the background.
