Köhler Beton was founded in 1947 by Franz Köhler. The company quickly made a name for itself with innovative patents and ideas. Over the years, Köhler Beton became a market leader in shaft construction as well as the necessary shaft systems made of precast concrete elements, particularly for cable duct construction and signal and power engineering. The Luckenwalde location was put into operation in 1993 and covers an area of 62,000 square meters on the site of the former building materials factory Luckenwalde at the Treuenbrietzener Tor. In 2005, Heinz Laternser became the managing director. Since then, the company has operated under Klaus Köhler Beton- und Fertigteilwerk GmbH. In mid-2015, Tita Laternser and Axel Bering took over the management. Today, Klaus Köhler Beton- und Fertigteilwerk in Luckenwalde, with its approximately 60 employees, is regarded nationwide as a synonym for excellent, practically proven concrete and reinforced concrete precast elements. The focus is primarily on cable duct systems for telecommunications and Deutsche Bahn AG. Additionally, system components for energy and utility companies, airport construction, infrastructure, and environmental protection measures are produced.
