On September 17, 1959, the aerosol business Günter Hermann Pohls was registered under the name Güpo. It produced cosmetics and technical sprays, including those utilizing a filling and gasification technology developed by him. In 1975, the GmbH was founded, and in 1978, a new building was constructed in Kehl-Sundheim. The focus here was on the production of water-based sprays, particularly foaming agents for leak detection in systems that operate under gas or air pressure. In the 1990s, the market for leak detection agents demanded more and more product variations. The product range was expanded under new management through continuous development work. Today, you will find in Güpo your competent partner for leak detection liquids, even beyond DIN 30657 and EN 14291: for all gases. In 1998, trading in abrasives (raw materials for polishing and cleaning) was added as a new business area. Initially, the focus was on polishing clays (aluminum oxides, Al2O3). Since these only solved a limited part of the polishing tasks presented by the market, the program was soon expanded to include aluminum silicates, hydroxides, and other abrasives, both synthetic and mineral. Today, you will find a wide range of polishing raw materials at Güpo, combined with technically sound consulting, including through its own application laboratory.
