In the second half of the nineteenth century, some merchants, called "balonari", would leave Gattorna at the beginning of the beautiful season with suitcases full of small toys to reach the capitals and large cities of Northern Europe. Millions of children have played with these small and simple games bought at fairs. To commemorate that era, "Il piccolo museo del Giocattolo" was created in Gattorna, and from that moment the windmill became the symbol of the town. On March 1, 1953, Mario Basso took over a small artisan company that would become "Alfredo Ginocchio di Basso Mario" and continued to produce these toys, expanding the range. In 1967, we purchased the first press to manufacture the various plastic components of the windmill, which is the item we specialized in, becoming known worldwide. In 1980, Mario Basso passed away, and the history of the business continued with "Giobas", acquiring new large spaces and hiring additional staff. We have produced more than 200 different models of windmills. In 1996, we began producing the "garden" line characterized by polypropylene windmills, very durable and suitable for outdoor use in rainbow colors. All our windmills are accompanied by CE certificates and tested according to EN-1-2-3 standards and others, as per current regulations. Currently, we are regular exporters and send goods to more than thirty countries around the world.
