Our company Emo Frite has a rich history. In Celje, frits began to be melted nearly a century ago. The origins of frit and enamel production date back to the late 1920s and early 1930s in Celje and are closely linked to the development of the once world-renowned enamel cookware factory Westen, which was established in 1894. Between 1928 and 1930, they began melting frits in the factory using German recipes. A turning point in the factory's history and the start of its own frit development in Celje came in 1947. At that time, a group of engineers led by internationally recognized enamel expert Hubert Ankerst established a research and development laboratory, where they developed basic and acid-resistant frits. After 1954, they also began producing titanium frits, and from 1977, frits for ceramic glazes. Since 1996, we have proudly held the ISO 9001 standard. This is also confirmed by the certificate issued by the international institution BV – BUREAU VERITAS from London. In 2005, we expanded our production program to include the melting of ceramic frits for binders in artificial abrasives. With a complete assortment, we now present ourselves as a strong supplier of frits and enamels in the global market. The goals for the future development of Emo Frit are based on technology, tradition, knowledge, creativity, and quality products. The primary goal of future development is the production and sale of high-quality frits, enamels, glazes, and ceramic binders for artificial abrasives.
