The Durukan family has been involved in the food industry since 1976 as a distributor, wholesaler, and supermarket owner. With the vision of expanding the business, Durukan focused on becoming a producer of confectionery products in 1993. Durukan Confectionery initially began producing lollipop products for the domestic market under the Durukan brand. Subsequently, the company experienced growth in export sales with the Durukan brand. Until 2003, PepsiCo distributed Durukan branded products in the domestic market. In 2003, PepsiCo launched its own candy brand called Rocco, which is now the second largest candy brand in Turkey. With this decision, Durukan Confectionery became the sole producer of Rocco Lollipop and Rocco Rengarenk "coated chewy candy" items for the Turkish market. Durukan Confectionery remains one of the largest suppliers to PepsiCo Europe. Durukan products are sold worldwide (including the U.S.A., European countries, the MENA region, and Far East countries) as one of the largest producers of candy and lollipops. With the success of growth in domestic and export markets, Durukan Confectionery has developed itself through investments in building a state-of-the-art factory, increasing lollipop capacity, and adding coated chewy candy and center-filled hard candy products to its portfolio.
