DISTILLERIE LES FILS D'EMILE PERNOT SODEX

The Emile Pernot house, over a century old, has a direct lineage rooted in the origins of the famous liqueur known as 'absinthe', and you will discover that the story is quite surprising in its coincidences! Indeed, legend has it that upon the death of Ordinaire at the end of the 18th century, his precious original recipe passed into the hands of two Swiss sisters from the Henriod family, who in turn sold it to Major Dubied of Couvet, allowing him to establish, with his son-in-law Henri-Louis Pernod, the very first absinthe distillery in Pontarlier in 1805. Only 16 liters of absinthe were produced each day from the two stills of this small distillery. Dubied later parted ways with Pernod (who in turn launched his own factory known as Pernod Fils) and continued under the name 'Dubied Père et Fils'. The magnificent copper stills, over a century old, used by the Pernot house for absinthe distillation come from the famous Egrot factory.
