The GERMAN LANOLIN COMPANY has fully specialized in the trade of wool wax and its derivatives, accumulating a wealth of experience over the decades regarding the many advantages and applications of wool wax, which we are happy to share with our customers and interested parties. We see ourselves as a long-term and reliable partner, always committed to the idea of quality. A testament to our quality awareness is, among other things, the ISO 9001 certification that our company has held since 2003. The GERMAN LANOLIN COMPANY was founded in 1968. This establishment followed a collaboration that had existed since 1953 between Gustav Parmentier and the Westbrook Lanolin Company, Bradford. When the wool combing mill Döhren, the largest German lanolin manufacturer at the time, ceased operations in 1972, its rights and trademarks could be taken over by WESTBROOK. By the way, Döhren was the company that Gustav Parmentier, the great-grandfather of the current owners, represented in Hesse until his death in 1935, although his son Benno Parmentier was deemed too young to take over that responsibility. In 1998, a long and successful collaboration came to an end when the WESTBROOK Lanolin Company was sold. Since then, the GERMAN LANOLIN COMPANY has partnered with NK Ingredients, Singapore, a new and capable partner. This company emerged from a $110 million investment by a Japanese lanolin manufacturer, which had significantly overextended itself with a plant built in Singapore according to the latest standards and had to file for bankruptcy in 1994. Today, more than 40 people are employed there.
