ANTONIO ROSALES ARTE EN PIEDRA

Antonio Rosales begins his early years of learning in 1978 in Poyo (Pontevedra, Spain) with teachers such as Alfonso Vilar and Manolo Paz in Sculpture and Salvador Laredo in Stone Masonry. He then holds the position of Modeling and Sculpture officer for five years with Eladio Martínez in Bertola (Pontevedra) and another five years as a professional Sculptor with Guillermo Feal in Guisamo (A Coruña, Spain). He exhibits at the Pontevedra biennial in the sculpture category, receiving an honorable mention in 1984 and the 1st prize in 1985. In 1990, he starts his own workshop-exhibition in Tenorio-Cotobade, near Pontevedra, his hometown, where he has since created works in sculpture, crafts, stone masonry, and restoration. Since his beginnings, he has attended international professional Fairs and Workshops: in Switzerland (Geneva 1980), in Italy (Verona 1993 and 2008), in Portugal (Batalha 1997 and 2015), in France (Castres 2009), Germany (Nuremberg 2011). And also in Spain: Stone Fair and Arco (Madrid 2004-2006), Contrumat 2000 (Barcelona 2000), Sagrada Familia (Barcelona 2015), Macael (Almería 2006), Girona (Girona 2013-2014 and 2015). These experiences allowed him to engage in collaborations and exchanges of ideas, learning other methods and procedures in open and participatory environments for common and reciprocal knowledge, which is difficult to achieve in other settings. Years of experience, tradition, and innovation in the art of stone allow us to create original sculptures.
