In 1955, Otwin Amtmann invested in a Gulla painting machine from Billhöfer and found employees from the village and surrounding areas. Because he was not satisfied with the quality of the paint, he started his own paint production. The result of his entrepreneurial vision: 32 formulations for calendar paints, deep-drawing paints, various synthetic resin and nitro paints, as well as hot seal lacquers. Relentlessly, he continued with new ideas. With a revolutionary painting preparation that dried to a film-like coating on paper. It was so elastic that it did not break when creasing art printing paper. Since 1962, Hermann Sauter has supported the company founder, allowing him to focus on new ideas and concepts. Light posters were now being produced. The LK 2000 machine was developed and built in-house, enabling the folding and gluing of opposite edges. Another innovation was the processing of prints on blister packs, which became the company's specialty – protected by patent law. The visionary tinkerer Otwin Amtmann founded his second company, Amtmann Apparatebau, in the 1970s. A prime example of his profitable visions was the RST Standard gluing machine for strip gluing to attach back supports. The success demanded a second expansion of the business. The first floor was converted for machine construction and administration. Further machine developments, such as the AH-fit string suspension machine, conquered the market both domestically and internationally. Result: 65% market share in Germany. Through its own sample production with modern cutting and plotting technology in 2009, Amtmann has catapulted itself technically forward; the Aristo machine, with a sheet size of up to 1200x1700mm, performs excellently. Additionally, the expansion of the machine park in 2009 with one of the largest punching machines (1300x1800mm, Enco) has propelled the company further ahead.
