247TailorSteel BV was founded by Carel van Sorgen, who now has nearly 40 years of experience in the sheet metal processing industry. 247TailorSteel delivers custom laser-cut sheets and tubes. A laser cutting system has been in use since 1978. Currently, thousands of customers use the innovative 247TailorSteel portal Sophia® to order individually processed sheets and tubes online. 247TailorSteel started in 2007 with two 5 kW laser machines from Trumpf. Since then, eight CO² laser machines, twelve fiber laser cutting machines, and three Adige tube laser machines are in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is solely for the Dutch market. There are now three locations: Varsseveld, Bremen, and Winterswijk. Using AGV systems, sheets made from various metal types are transported to the loading arm of the laser cutting machine, which is then automatically loaded and unloaded. The exact dimensions are generated directly from the order data. This system is not only fast and flexible but also extremely efficient. Energy-efficient production processes The energy consumption of 247TailorSteel is lower than that of other laser cutting manufacturers. Furthermore, thanks to the newly developed nesting technique (a nesting of several different orders), material waste is reduced. Bending is a processing method in which metal sheets are given the desired shape. We can process sheets up to 6mm thick. The modern bending presses and bending machines at 247TailorSteel are fully CNC-controlled and equipped with all features for reshaping metal sheets. The range extends from single pieces to series production.
