There is no seal between the frame and sash in roof windows. Due to the structure of the window, warm air containing excess water vapor escapes, while cold and dry air enters. In roof windows, however, the rubber seals between the frame and sash provide insulation against heat, air, water, dust, and noise. These seals reduce the likelihood of moisture being expelled through air flow. Condensation will occur not on the glass surface, but at the junction of the window and wall on the wall surface. To prevent this situation, it is sufficient to ventilate the space by opening the sashes of two opposing roof windows at least twice a day. The ability to control the ventilation process by the user and to perform it at desired times is an advantage of roof window systems.
