SGARAMELLA COSIMO

It was Grandpa Michele who wrote the first page of our story. At the age of nine, shortly after the Second World War, he experienced what would become the work of his life: cement worker. He became an apprentice to Master Mangarella Libborio and immediately demonstrated an innate ability to shape clay and plaster. Under his guidance, in 1955, he created the monument in honor of the Air Force. In 1965, he depicted the history of locomotion in a series of bas-reliefs at the northern station of Bari. In collaboration with sculptor and painter Michele Gregorio, he sculpted a life-sized concrete statue of the "Pietà" within the cemetery of Locorotondo. Between 1969 and 1970, he worked with architect Onofrio Mancini on the construction of the "Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno" building. Since 1972, in Ugento, he established his own company and made a name for himself in the market with travertine-effect concrete, winning the first ACAI-USPAS award. In 1992, the baton was passed to his son Cosimo, who, after attending the Technical Institute for Surveyors, decided to follow in his father's footsteps by taking over the management of the company. Today, we operate on a surface of 8000 square meters, and we are professionals in the production of concrete artifacts intended for urban furniture, garden decor, and interiors. Our production, certified CAM – REMADE ITALY, is the result of the experience, research, and innovation we have been conducting for over 50 years.
