Friction Stir Welding connects – not just aluminum! RIFTEC - that's us: Dr. Axel Meyer and Alexander Freiherr von Strombeck, along with our team of 40 highly motivated employees. We see ourselves as pioneers of Friction Stir Welding, having brought this process to industrial application in Geesthacht over 20 years ago! Since then, we have been welding a wide variety of components in series for our customers across Europe – from extremely thin-walled extruded profiles for the automotive sector to high-vacuum-tight aluminum-steel connections for medical technology, and even to high-strength, thick-walled profiles for rail vehicle construction and the aerospace industry. Highly precise, reproducible, and full of passion! Since 2013, our company has been part of the Austrian HAI Group, one of the 'big players' in the European aluminum market with around 1,600 employees. This corporate affiliation gives us direct access to nearly the entire value chain of aluminum – from extrusion bolts to the most demanding extruded profiles, all the way to the friction stir welded and finished component, all from a single source.
