METO International GmbH is a globally leading provider of labeling and marking solutions for retail, system catering, and their supply chains. METO develops, produces, and distributes a variety of label solutions. The portfolio includes, among others, price and promotional labels, labels for food law compliance (LMIV) and HACCP guidelines, seal labels for secure initial opening, barcode labels, as well as EM security labels for goods. Additionally, METO offers cost-effective solutions for fresh goods labeling, fastening solutions for electronic price labeling, and sales promotion solutions. Many of the labeling and sales promotion solutions developed by METO are now standard in retail. This includes the first hand labeler (1959), the wave edge label with security cut (1968), as well as various price cassettes and displays. METO was founded in 1918 by Adolf Metzger and Oskar Kind in Cologne. Since 2016, METO has been part of CCL Industries Inc., a market leader in label and packaging solutions for businesses and consumers, and operates there as an independent company within the CCL division Avery. The European headquarters, production, and warehouse of METO are located in Hirschhorn am Neckar.
