The Fergana Furan Compounds Plant, a unified company, was established in 1946 due to the need for technical ethyl alcohol in the defense industry. In 1965, workshops for the production of tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol and feed yeast were built, and a hydrogen workshop and a nitrogen plant were put into operation. In 2002, the German company Unionmatex commissioned the production of cotton cellulose with a capacity of 30,000 tons per year, costing approximately 50 million US dollars according to the company. Fargona Kimyo Zavodi LLC was founded in 2012 based on the Ferghana Chemical Plant for Furan Compounds. The company is one of the largest manufacturers of cotton cellulose in Uzbekistan. Our products are used as raw materials in many manufacturing companies. Today, 80% of our products are exported, with export destinations including Bulgaria, China, Germany, Serbia, Russia, and other CIS countries. Cotton cellulose is a raw material for the production of nitrocellulose, (DAC, TAC) carboxymethylcellulose, and other ethers, as well as for cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications (highly hydrophilic cellulose absorbents, tampons, disposable sheets, towels, napkins, toilet paper, hydrogels, diapers, medical preparations, cosmetics, bandages, hemostatic cellulose powder, absorbable films, surgical sutures), paints, and varnishes.
