HELCO METAL

The company was founded in 1952 by Pantelis Kyrouglou, in a 60 sqm space in the center of Piraeus, specializing in the electroplating of children's strollers. In 1976, it moved to a 350 sqm space in Piraeus, and the company subsequently took on a family character with Giannis and Christos Toutountzis joining to develop the company, which was renamed Chromiotechniki - AFOI I. & CH. Toutountzis. In 1998, the company relocated to Magoula, Attica, into a 750 sqm space, and a few years later, the two partners proceeded to purchase their own land in Ritsona Avlidas for the construction of new facilities for the business. The new factory began operations in February 2008, under the name Helco Metal, covering an area of 6,000 sqm. The 1,600 sqm facilities house a state-of-the-art electroplating unit, one of the largest in Europe, offering electroplating services for metal components made of iron, brass, aluminum, and Zamak. Copper plating, a necessary process for zinc (zamak) components. Nickel plating, coated with a thin layer of nickel to make the metal durable. Chrome plating, an electrolytic process applying a thin layer of chrome onto the component. Brass plating, components acquire a thin layer of brass that gives a shine similar to that of gold plating, and with the process of passivating the brass, the shine will last a long time.
