The company Hans C. Schmidt u. Sohn looks back on more than 85 years of tradition as a family business, having been founded in 1925 as a trading company for machines, equipment, and store fittings. Initially, the main focus was on the coffee industry, which was well represented in Bremen, but soon many other sectors were added. Today, the company offers a wide range of machines and equipment designed for use in the food, chemical, and plastics industries. These are mostly large machines with extensive applications: cleaning, feeding, conveying, transporting, storing, vibrating, dosing, mixing, drying, weighing, grinding, packaging, and sorting - there are few challenges for which Schmidt u. Sohn cannot provide a specialized machine, as they also represent renowned German and European manufacturers to complete their product range. One of the most important program areas is metal separation and detection. Here, the company represents a Bavarian manufacturer that offers a metal separator or detector for nearly every need. Whether it’s checking packaged products in the food industry or cleaning bulk goods at the goods receipt, S+S always has the right device in their program. This area is complemented by a large selection of magnets and magnetic systems, as well as state-of-the-art X-ray detectors. Drum and tumble mixers for coloring granulates are also part of the product range. The assortment from the French manufacturer Lazareth also includes mixing machines up to a standard size of 10 m³, as well as laboratory mixers, screw conveyors, and dosing devices. The vacuum conveyor DA CAPO also transports granulates, grains, and powders. With easily laid flexible hoses, all flowable goods are transported up to 15 m away and 10 m high to injection molding machines, mills, scales, and containers. Flexible conveyor spirals and screw conveyors are just as much part of the product range as conveyor belts, chain conveyors, vibrating conveyor systems, and vibrating tables. The extensive range of coffee grinders for specialty shops, coffee shops, hotels, and industrial use remains of great importance. Additionally, mills for grains, spices, flaxseed, poppy seeds, as well as graters for nuts and cheese are also supplied.
