The Charville Frères Cognac house was founded at the end of the 19th century, during the golden age of cognac. This brandy, already exported since the Middle Ages, became the hallmark of British high society. At that time, its empire was so vast that the sun never set on it. From India to the trading posts of Singapore, Hong Kong, or vibrant Shanghai, this elite cultivated a highly codified exclusivity. Gentlemen’s Clubs emerged alongside polo, golf, and tiger hunting... Here, one would gather to share a glass of cognac, comfortably enveloped in the smoke of cigars. The port of Cognac was then connected to the entire world, and trading houses thrived there until the First World War. Forgotten during the more chaotic interwar period, our beautiful house was reborn nearly a century later with the same values of quality and excellence as before, ready to embark on the conquest of the world.
