Bertrand Lépine has been cultivating spirulina in France for 25 years. In 1993, he founded his first company and patented the first liquid extracts of spirulina standardized in Phycocyanin in 1999. For over 15 years, his first product has been sold in French Biocoops. For more than 10 years, he has provided technical consulting services, production monitoring, and tool sizing both in France and abroad. As a spirulina producer in the Pyrénées-Orientales, he is passionate about this cyanobacterium and has a laboratory to conduct R&D and extraction activities. Similarly, Antoine Lépine and Kévin André are two young engineers from Toulouse who created ALINOTECH after their studies to embark on entrepreneurship. This company brings together the key activities of microalgae production and is working on developing an innovative process for packaging liquid extracts. Their goal is to enhance French expertise in the microalgae sector by developing their activities throughout the value chain, particularly by mastering microalgae production (in the lab or at an industrial scale), extracting and valorizing microalgae and their active principles, developing high-value-added finished products (beverages, dietary supplements, cosmetics), and creating suitable packaging to promote the consumption of microalgae.
