AFB SOCIAL & GREEN IT

AfB social & green IT specializes in taking over decommissioned IT and mobile devices from companies, insurance companies, banks, and public institutions, aiming to remarket as many devices as possible. All data carriers are deleted or shredded in accordance with a certified process that meets the highest security standards. The devices are collected by IT security transport using in-house personnel and a dedicated fleet in many European countries and transported to the nearest AfB branch. In addition to data destruction, the devices are recorded, tested, cleaned, loaded with new software, and sold with up to three years of warranty. Non-marketable hardware is dismantled and recycled under high ecological and ethical standards, resulting in the production of new raw materials in Europe. The original owner of the devices receives all relevant reports, including data destruction certificates for the surrendered hardware. What makes AfB special: All work steps are designed to be barrier-free. AfB stands for "Arbeit für Menschen mit Behinderung". More than 500 people are committed to the second use of business IT at AfB, 45% of whom are severely disabled. Thus, IT partners of AfB contribute not only ecologically but also socially to the inclusion of people with disabilities in the primary labor market.
